Bases

The game is centered around Bases. These are settlements which players can capture to gain control of infrastructure and use it to produce wealth or build armies.
Bases also expand a player's strategic reach, as one can deploy their armies to a base they own and operate their armies in the vicinity of it.
Regular bases come with the following buildings :

Each building has strategic value and can be upgraded to make it more efficient at performing its function.
Each player is given a Home Base when they join the game, and this base cannot be captured by other players, but can be attacked, along with its buildings.
All other bases are at the disposal of the High Bloods. Bases are generally used as a fortress, allowing a player to control regions of territory from a strong position.
An army that is attacked at a base owned by its commander will receive a defense bonus.
Armies stationed at bases owned by their High Blood leaders are able to be deployed offensively from those forward bases.

Bases take time and resources to upgrade, and it is important for the High Bloods to remember that a base that they captured can also be captured from them by another.
Whenever a High Born loses a base that they have upgraded, their ranking suffers a hit, causing them to lose certain bonuses and even titles.
As such, for the sake of their reputations and noble blood, it is advisable for players to only upgrade bases they are confident in defending. However, the rules of war are determined by the mighty, so feel free to use your bases as you see fit.
